Welcome to Shediac Bay Yacht Club!
Shediac was originally called "La Batture", in reference to its position in the basing of Shediac River.

The name Shediac itself is derived from the Micmac word "Esedeiik", which means "which comes from far away", possibly in reference to the Shediac Bay or the current of the Petitcodiac River.
A Brief History
Established in 1932, the Shediac Bay Yacht Club began with a small group of dedicated mariners who shared a passion for the sea and a vision for a community-centered yachting home.
And from its modest beginnings, the club has grown into a premier destination for boating enthusiast in eastern Canada, and is an integral part of the Shediac community
However, a club doesn't survive over 9 decades of existence without a strong membership and leadership, for which we owe a debt of gratitude to the following Commodores who have each played an important role in ensuring our legacy, over the many years
