Since it was founded in 1933, Shediac Bay Yacht Club / Yacht Club de la Baie de Shediac has undergone several expansions and renovations in order to accommodate a growing list of members, while staying true to our heritage.

On December 21, 2010, a severe storm surge destroyed most of the SBYC facility. Rehabilitation of the Yacht Club began in the spring of 2011. Since that date, significant investments have been made to replace existing infrastructure with all new docks, new gangways, new electrical system, new pedestals, upgrade to the Boat slip and a new Pumping Station, all in an effort to continue improving our infrastructure every year.

On September 7, 2019, SBYC was in the path of Hurricane Dorian and totally destroyed the docking facility. More than seventy boats were tangled together. Thankfully nobody was injured. The Bridge and management worked tirelessly through the winter months to ensure that the rebuild would be completed for the 2020 boating season. In March 2020 SBYC was hit with another challenge that would possibly stall the rebuild project.(Covid-19) 

On June 26, 2020, SBYC opened for the 2020 Boating Season.

Our new water infrastructure has been engineered; the anchoring system, the main docks, new electrical system that now offers 20, 30 & 50 amps service.
